A Different Kind of Currency

The right relationships can open doors that money never will

If you knew that difficult times were coming, what kind of currency would you be inclined to start saving?

Most of us tend to think in monetary terms as to what we might want to have access to in a time of need.

We think of precious metals or gems, high value goods that could be bartered or even plain old cash or cryptocurrency stashed away for a rainy day.

But there’s another type of currency that is infinitely more valuable during truly hard times.

And that’s the currency of solid relationships with the people around us.

What makes this currency so rare and valuable is that it’s not based on something that can be purchased.

It’s based on trust, love and a willingness to help one another without hesitation.

During times of great uncertainty, how precious are those individuals whose character is proven and for whom we would gladly sacrifice without a second thought?

Those types of qualities require time and commitment to develop and can be lost in an instant through deception or betrayal.

They can include family, neighbors, friends or longtime associates, but the time to start investing in those relationships is now.

The easiest way to connect with principled people of proven ideals is to be such a person ourselves.

Sound relationships are a kind of currency that can open doors and yield high dividends throughout our lives and, unlike mere money, can also accompany us into the hereafter.
