The difficulty level in most of our lives seems to be increasing dramatically.
Whether this difficulty stems from employment or financial worries, health concerns, strained relationships or just the growing uncertainty all around us, the stress and worry are real.
In an unpredictable world, we tend to look for patterns.
It’s part of our human nature to want to question why this is happening to us.
We may be tempted to feel as though fate has singled us out for some reason.
Social media might lead us to conclude that others are leading charmed lives without worry or care.
In reality, there’s not a person alive who isn’t being challenged by life at some level.
Much of what we worry about is beyond our control.
At the same time, how we choose to respond to sudden change in our lives is one area where we actually have a say.
The silver lining here is that events that cause upheaval tend to leave us looking for a way to make sense of it all.
One of the most important questions we might ask is, how might this challenge improve us in ways that we hadn’t expected?
After all, when nothing is certain, anything is possible.
It's liberating to accept that change will come with or without our permission.
It simply means that new doors are opening.
There may come a time when we’ll look back on our challenges with a mixture of gratitude and appreciation for the growth it provided.
