Bryan Hyde and I have been beating the “Lift Your Voice” drum hard for the past couple of weeks while we are getting this community started.
That’s because we are convinced we have entered an exciting yet challenging time in history and must now spread our combined light throughout the world.
There is an underlying sense that we need to catch up and take the necessary action to save our freedom, culture, and society.
What we are feeling is not isolated or unique.
We are not alone. Almost everyone we talk to feels anxious, too. Like they should be doing something but are unsure what to do or how to do it.
Your Voice is the Sound of Freedom
Bryan and I started The Fifty-two Seven Alliance as a community where all of us can gather to figure out how to amplify our individual and combined voices of light.
The idea of sharing your voice is often misunderstood.
The first thought that comes to mind about sharing your voice is you must be vocal. You know, like standing behind a podium during the public portion of a school board meeting to convey your displeasure with a particular portion of the approved curriculum that you and 99% of the other community members in attendance are sure is inappropriate for children.
The board chairperson then cuts off your mic as security sidesaddles up to you, all nice and cozy.
That is one of many kinds of voices we are promoting.
But not every voice is a verbal voice.
Deborah Martin shared her personal experience about when her voice stopped working. She remained silent for two and a half years. In that time, Deborah learned what a personal voice really is.
“There are myriads of ways to communicate. The written word “shall go from generation to generation” (2 Nephi 25:22). There is body language where, with a simple look, many thoughts can be communicated. Music can communicate complex emotions that cannot be expressed in any other way. Images in the form of paintings and photography are forms of communication. When the Holy Ghost accompanies a voice, however, there is something that rises above all the other modes of communication.”
Or how about musicians who cannot express themselves vocally? There are dozens of talented mute musicians! Do an internet search for “Mute Musicians” to see for yourself. These gifted performers are definitely not mute. They are very capable of communicating and emotionally connecting with their followers.
Your skills and abilities define who you are.
When you put your personal skills into action, they become your voice. They are your unique superpower, the essence of who you are.
Your voice is the means to share your exceptional skills, talent, wisdom, and spin on life.
Introverts Have a Voice, Too
Being introverted is not a reason to remain silent on issues that you know are important.
Quiet and sometimes shy people are excellent thinkers.
There is a huge misconception that introverts must gain some fabricated prowess to be influential speakers or leaders.
Have you ever heard of Susan Cain? She is an introverted author who stepped into the spotlight to share her insights on the power of introverts through her bestselling book and a powerful TED talk that has been viewed millions of times since 2012.
Here is another example.
An author you may have heard of, unless you live in a cave, by the name of J.K. Rowling. Her ability to craft worlds of depth and imagination from her quiet reflection is a testament to the impact introverts can have when they share their inner worlds.
So, if you are shy and quiet like I am, you can still step outside yourself.
But I have learned stepping outside of yourself doesn’t mean forsaking your introverted qualities. Instead, it means sharing your unique perspective with the world in whatever way feels most authentic to you.
The quiet strength of an introvert is a force to be reckoned with, one that can inspire, influence, and ignite change.
You are enough—your voice, your insights, your creativity—it's all needed. It's not about changing who you are but identifying and embracing your strengths and allowing others to see them.
Your Voice Matters
Regardless of your personality, the world needs your insights, creativity, and leadership. You own the power to effect change, touch hearts, and inspire minds.
Take courage and step outside yourself.
Not to be seen but to let your pure, authentic voice be heard. In doing so, you will find that you enrich not only the lives of others but also your own.
Your voice—the unique confluence of talents, skills, experiences, and wisdom you possess—is your soul's signature.
It's a beacon of light that can illuminate the darkest corners of our world. And in today's tumultuous times, it's more important than ever that your voice is heard.
The Fifty-two Seven Alliance community is committed to helping you discover and refine your voice.
Whether your medium is music, art, counseling, teaching, or any other form of expression, there's a place for you within our collective.
When we come together as individual points of light, we can disperse the prevailing darkness in our world today.
Thanks for reading!
