So true! During my career in community banking and trust company operations, at various times I reported to senior management and ultimately to the board of directors. I learned early on the most genuine way to handle humbling moments was to respond with the honest truth like, “I don’t know, but I will find out today and get back to you,” and ”Whoops! I made a mistake there. I will fix it.” Good, intelligent leaders are compassionate and forgiving people.
